2023 NFL Mock Draft: Mike Renner and Trevor Sikkema send C.J. Stroud to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 2 overall

It's that time of year.

We're past the midway point of the NFL regular season. Snow football is about to arrive in the north. It's time for a mock draft.

This week on It's Just Football, PFF's Mike Renner and Trevor Sikkema took a swing at drafting the current top-20, sending Bryce Young to the Houston Texans, C.J. Stroud to the Las Vegas Raiders and more.

You can tune in to It's Just Football on Youtube, weekdays from 11 a.m. ET.

1. Houston Texans: QB Bryce Young, Alabama

Big board rank: 1

Stats to know through Week 11
90.0 PFF grade
90.1 passing grade
8.2 yards per pass attempt

“Bryce Young to the Houston Texans just feels correct. It feels like the culture-changer at the position that they need.”

Mike Renner

2. Las Vegas Raiders: QB C.J. Stroud, Ohio State

Big board rank: 4

Stats to know through Week 11
83.7 PFF grade
83.5 passing grade
16 big-time throws

“When I watch C.J. Stroud, there is just so much that I like about him. I feel like he is confident in the pocket and within structure. … He is a technically and fundamentally sound quarterback with a really nice arm, and I think he's going to be a good pro.”

Trevor Sikkema

3. Carolina Panthers: QB Will Levis, Kentucky

Big board rank: 3

Stats to know through Week 11
68.7 PFF grade
9.1 yards per pass attempt
8.4-yard average depth of target

“I do keep going back to the physical ability. He has a flamethrower. He is one hell of an athlete, and he makes plays from the pocket, under pressure, consistently — Something that, to me, is the yes or no at the collegiate level.”

Mike Renner

4. Philadelphia Eagles: DI Jalen Carter, Georgia

Big board rank: 5

Stats to know through Week 11
89.8 PFF grade
86.7 pass-rush grade
78.0 run-defense grade

“The temptation to reunite Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter once again in the NFL is too great. What Jalen Carter has been able to do this year has been unblockable at times.”

Trevor Sikkema

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Edge Will Anderson Jr., Alabama

Big board rank: 2

Stats to know through Week 11
81.2 PFF grade
82.6 pass-rush grade
44 total pressures

“I don't care what my edge group looks like. Obviously, the Jaguars have a pretty deep edge group at this point, with last year's No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker and Josh Allen, but I'm still adding a Will Anderson to the mix. He's that versatile. If you wanted to play him off-ball a little, you could do that as well in that defense. He's just too good to say, ‘I'm too deep at that position.'”

Mike Renner

6. Chicago Bears: T Peter Skoronski, Northwestern

Big board rank: 7

Stats to know through Week 11
86.1 PFF grade
93.1 pass-blocking grade
77.0 run-blocking grade

“He has addressed a lot of the concerns I had about him going into the season. I wondered if he was athletic enough to play at tackle and have consecutive good seasons playing tackle, and he has, man. He just looks so steady. He looks so calm. He looks so poised. … I think for the Chicago Bears, specifically, getting Skoronski and getting him to be the best pass-blocker at one of those tackle spots — to me, that makes the most sense.”

Trevor Sikkema

7. Seattle Seahawks: CB Kelee Ringo, Georgia

Big board rank15

Stats to know through Week 11
64.2 overall grade
63.0 coverage grade
80.2 passer rating allowed

“Maybe I don't see him as this slam-dunk top-10 cornerback prospect I saw with Stingley and Sauce and to some degree McDuffie a year ago. But, man, in this defense, across from one Tariq Woolen — that's a scary thought. You have a 6-foot-4, 205-pound corner in Tariq Woolen; you have a 6-foot-2, 210- to 215-pounder in Ringo, who both run in the 4.2s… That's just a difficult cornerback group to go up against physically.”

Mike Renner

8. Detroit Lions: DI Bryan Bresee, Clemson

Big board rank6

Stats to know through Week 11
67.1 PFF grade
76.0 pass-rush grade
14 total pressures

“This dude's a former No. 1 overall recruit for a reason — it's because his athleticism is off the charts. He's 6-foot-5, 305 to 310 pounds, and he can explode from a three-tech position.”

Trevor Sikkema

9. Houston Texans: WR Quentin Johnston, TCU

Big board rank9

Stats to know through Week 11
77.7 PFF grade
2.91 yards per route run
15.5 yards per reception

“He's 6-foot-4, 215, explosive as hell, insane after the catch. He has 42 broken tackles after the catch on 100 career receptions — just out-of-this-world production with the ball in his hands. Maybe he's not a polished, out-of-the-gate type of wide receiver, but he can at least be a vertical and screen threat in Year 1.”

Mike Renner

10. Pittsburgh Steelers: T Paris Johnson Jr., Ohio State

Big board rank: 18

Stats to know through Week 11
80.6 PFF grade
80.5 passing grade
0 sacks allowed across 581 snaps

“The Steelers definitely need some O-line help. Johnson has that versatility, and his long-term outlook could be a franchise tackle.”

Trevor Sikkema

11. Detroit Lions: Edge Myles Murphy, Clemson

Big board rank: 8

Stats to know through Week 11
78.9 PFF grade
79.4 pass-rush grade
21 total pressures

“Murphy is very much this year's Travon Walker in that every box, physically, he is ticking. … He is that level of explosion where it doesn't take too much in the way of technique, and the way of pass-rush moves to then become a massive impact player at the next level.”

Mike Renner

12. Atlanta Falcons: Edge Jared Verse, Florida State

Big board rank21

Stats to know through Week 11
80.6 PFF grade
85.2 pass-rushing grade
6 sacks

“The power, the speed, the violence and the mentality he plays with — I love it all. I don't know if he's going to go top-10, but I'd love him in the top 20, and the Falcons desperately need pass rush.”

Trevor Sikkema

13. Arizona Cardinals: RB Bijan Robinson, Texas

Big board rank: 22

Stats to know through Week 11
92.0 rushing grade
0.38 missed tackles forced per attempt
27 explosive runs of 10 or more yards

“A backfield of Kyler Murray and Bijan Robinson does sound pretty electric. It's something that I would like to see, given the resurgence of the run game and the rise of two high safeties in the NFL. The run game is getting more important, and when that's the case, the running back also gets more important. And if you need a running back in this class, you're not going to find a better one than Bijan Robinson.”

Mike Renner

14. Green Bay Packers: TE Michael Mayer, Notre Dame

Big board rank: 13

Stats to know through Week 11
90.2 receiving grade
76.8 pass-blocking grade
17 explosive plays of 15 or more yards

“This is an extremely solid player. If you put Michael Mayer in Green Bay, he's averaging seven catches a game, double-digit targets. Aaron Rodgers immediately goes to this guy at any time and always.”

Trevor Sikkema

15. Indianapolis Colts: QB Tanner McKee, Stanford

Big board rank: 17

Stats to know through Week 11
74.7 PFF grade
75.4 passing grade
6.9 yards per pass attempt

“He is extremely accurate. He throws with great timing. He plays within the offense. You worry a little about his pocket presence, and he's not the greatest athlete, and you worry about his escapability. But the Colts have to take a swing.”

Mike Renner

16. Washington Commanders: CB Joey Porter Jr., Penn State

Big board rank: 34

Stats to know through Week 11
84.3 coverage grade
13 catches for 123 yards allowed
0 touchdowns allowed

“I think he's a really good prospect. I think he has the CB1 ceiling: He's got the body type, he's got the forced incompletions, he's got the family name and the pedigree and the NFL background.”

Trevor Sikkema

17. Los Angeles Chargers: WR Jordan Addison, USC

Big board rank: 14

Stats to know through Week 11
82.9 receiving grade
7 receiving touchdowns
15 explosive plays of 15 or more yards

“I'm a fan of Jordan Addison's game. He is the best all-around separator in this class, for my money.”

Mike Renner

18. Cincinnati Bengals: T Olu Fashanu, Penn State

Big board rank35

Stats to know through Week 11
85.9 pass-blocking grade
0 sacks allowed
7 total pressures allowed

“I would like to see him get a little bit stronger in all facets of his game. However, the movement skills of this dude — that's what you draft and develop.”

Trevor Sikkema

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Edge Tyree Wilson, Texas Tech

Big board rank: 11

Stats to know through Week 11
77.2 pass-rush grade
8 sacks
50 total pressures

“Wilson is just a size freak at 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, 85-inch wingspan. He is really starting to figure it out. And … he craves the physicality aspect of the position.”

Mike Renner

20. Denver Broncos: LB Trenton Simpson, Clemson

Big board rank: 28

Stats to know through Week 11
69.2 PFF grade
69.0 coverage grade
20 defensive stops

“This is a guy who played a lot of slot-corner snaps last year, as well as linebacker, and this year he's a lot more in the box full-time. He brings that good athleticism to the position. He gives you a high ceiling in coverage.”
